Amazon Game Trade-in Review
I just traded a few games into Amazon last week. It did take 3 business days for my package to arrive and be processed by Amazon, but it was a rather painless process. All you need is a printer for the pre-paid shipping labels, a box or envelope of some kind (I had an Amazon box from a past order), and quick a run to the post office. Getting a quote for each game is as easy as shopping for games on Amazon.
Total: $29.00
- Unreal Tournament III - PLAYSTATION 3 - $4.50
- Phantasy Star Universe - Xbox 360 - $7.00
- Resistance: Fall Of Man - PLAYSTATION 3 - $6.25
- Mirror’s Edge - PLAYSTATION 3 - $11.25
It does seem like I got at least a few $$$ more than GameStop would have given me, plus I can spend it on anything on Amazon.com. Because I’m not locked into buying just games with the credit and I shop on Amazon a lot, I don’t think I’ll be going back to GameStop to trade-in games. Plus I hate standing in their lines when they are busy…
Amazon's New Trade-In Program vs. GameStop
[from whattheyplay.com]
Looks like I might try this next time I want to trade a game… Amazon is very competitive with GameStop and I’ve been buying on Amazon more than GameStop lately.
My 2007 MacBook Pro's resell Value
Late 2007 2.4GHz MacBook Pro (MA896LL/A), 4GB RAM, 160GB hard drive, 2 years AppleCare.

Not sure if the above link factors in the new MacBooks Pros announced today. I’ve also seen the same model with only 2GB of RAM listed for $1500… 4GB of ram plus 2 years AppleCare surely would bump it up to around $1600.
Worth the upgrade now while my Mac still has good resell value? Not sure if I want to be buying a new Mac every year or not.
Please inquire in the comments if you are interested in buying my MacBook Pro.
Music buying tips
Buy older albums used in CD format on Amazon.com. You can find most older albums that aren’t rare (a few years old) for around $2 or $3 plus $3 shipping. I just ordered 4 CDs for $20.26 total after shipping; the price of 2 albums downloaded or 1 album new at “BestBuy”. I must point-out that this doesn’t support the artists, but is legal, saves you money, and doesn’t give the RIAA any more money either.
MP3 downloads are still a great deal when you can’t find a used album for as low as mentioned above, or need to have the music now. Amazon MP3 usually has the best price for music downloads too.
With all the money you saved you can go to the artist’s website and buy a T-shirt to directly support them.
Just thought I’d share that.
