I had the 10 GB version of the original Mac only Firewire iPod. Loved it. I remember at college it was still a bit of a novelty even after the Windows & Mac USB version was released.

Updated: Fix for iTunes AppStore Update Errors (page is outdated & error 5002)
I’ve discovered the iTunes iOS App update error (The information on this page is outdated.) can be caused by never quitting iTunes.
The new fix: Try quitting iTunes every once in a while. I’ve found I still get this error if I leave iTunes open and sleep my MacBook Pro overnight. Simply relaunching iTunes when you first wake your Mac might fix this error.
The next must own iPhone game: Plants vs. Zombies. This popular PC/Mac game is being ported and released on the app store Feb 15th. This game is perfect for iPhone, I’ve been waiting for the port myself.
Gameloft’s NOVA has hit the AppStore for $6.99 (sadly without a demo)
It seems to be getting good reviews so far. I’ve been posting so much about this game because; if they pulled-off the FPS well on the iPhone this game will be a new benchmark for iPhone games, and it’s obviously inspired by some of my favorite console FPS games like Halo.
NOVA for iPhone launch trailer. The game comes out on the 17th. It’s an ambitious looking FPS game for the iPhone platform (and looks very Halo inspired). I hope there will be a demo because the touch controls will likely be this games weakness or even downfall.
‘Ace Combat Xi Skies of Incursion’ for iPhone & iPod Touch. Yet another big console game title comes to the iPhone. It looks like a great flight sim and uses the iPhone tilt controls well.

‘Song Summoner Encore’ for iPhone & iPod Touch. This looks like a good strategy RPG from Square Enix. Fans of Final Fantasy Tactics games will likely enjoy this game. The first version of this game was for the classic style iPods and was well reviewed.
The full game is $9.99 (iTunes link) but there’s also a lite demo version (iTunes link) that I plan to try before I buy. It looks like something you’d pay $30+ for on a Nintendo DS or GBA back in the day, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s well worth $9.99 for RPG fans.

UPDATE: I’ve tried the lite version for a few minutes and really enjoy the game. It reminds me very much of FF Tactics Advance for GBA and Disgaea for PS2/PSP. It’s also addictive picking songs on your device to create units. I was a little sad that songs weren’t integrated into the gameplay, perhaps playing each character’s song on the battlefield or something like that.
I will likely buy this game. If it’s as long as game as most strategy RPGs it will be well worth $9.99.
LUMINES – Touch Fusion (iPhone game)
Known as one of the best puzzle games on the PSP, this should be a must get on iPhone if it’s anything close to the PSP version… However it’s not getting the best reviews so far, but still worth a look.

Finally a Gmail Push notification iPhone app!
It’s been pulled from the AppStore temporarily though while a server issue is resolved. I’ll be checking this app out as soon as it’s back in the store. [via theiphoneblog.com]
