Wired: Why the Halo Movie Failed to Launch [via destructoid]
An interesting read on why there hasn’t been a Halo film (mostly due to Microsoft’s unwillingness to compromise).
Above I’ve attached the first live-action Halo 3 game promo by Neill Blomkamp (known for District 9) that was also a proof of concept for a feature film. There have also been live-action promos for all the Halo games since: Halo ODST, Halo Reach: Birth of a Spartian, Deliver Hope, and Remember Reach.

The Joy Formidable Live for YouTube Presents.
A 30 min set. Would love to see them live. Apparently I missed them a few weeks ago in Asheville, NC (just over an hour away).

“Paper” for iPad - Art apps continue to be the only reason I’d ever want an iPad… My iPhone does everything else fine, and I already do art on it.
This is a pretty damn cool-looking app. If I had an iPad and still drew, I’d grab it in a flash. (via Paper for the iPad)

“Kara” short film (game engine tech demo)
A good idea of what to expect from characters in video games in the coming years. Games are quickly catching-up with film CGI. Also checkout the behind the scenes video.

Stange and awesome stop-motion video of an ant colony inside a flatbed scanner over 5 years. Who comes-up with this stuff?!
François Vautier infested his flatbed scanner with an ant-colony and scanned the burgeoning hive-organism every week for five years, producing a beautiful, stylized stop-motion record of the ants’ slow consumption of his electronics. (via BoingBoing)

“Your First Glimpse of Halo 4”
The first Halo game not made by Bungie, this time developed by the new Microsoft owned Halo exclusive studio “343 Industries”.
There are already a lot of haters, but I’ve got an open mind and will judge the game when it’s out… From what they’ve shown it seems like a Halo game made by Halo fans, people who care about the sci-fi setting and story as much as the gameplay. I’ve got my fingers crossed 4 will be good.

‘Borderlands 2’ launch date announcement trailer. The first game was great fun, this looks twice as good. Also co-op is the only right way to play.

Vintage 80’s Rap Music Video about Training Karate.
Not sure if this was a real 80s video or just a recent joke… I did some research and did find the production company Today Video, Inc and the CEO David Seeger is the star of the video. I’m leaning towards well done joke video from the past 10 years.
