Portal 2 (PC) crashing resolved! (Nvidia GPU)
I saw a few suggestions I hadn’t tried yet and it did the trick:
Disable: Vertical Sync
Disable: Multi-Core Rendering (I may test with this back on as v-sync seems to be the main cause)
If the above doesn’t work, open your Nvidia control panel and set Pre-render frames to 0

Portal 2 (PC) Crashing...
I’ve been trying everything to fix this issue. I’m running Windows 7 64bit, Core2Duo and an Nvidia GTX 275. I’ve been running the latest Nvidia drivers too… I even clean installed my graphics drivers, and updated my sound drivers… Read more from my post on the Steam support forums.
Update: ISSUE RESOLVED

Free comic: “Portal 2 Lab Rat”. This is supposed to fill some of the story between the games Portal 1 and 2.
You can even download a PDF and read it on your iPhone, iPad etc.
