Gravity (Don’t Let Me Go) - By Jon Black - You can download the song from his site.
I find if interesting that his song is actually inspired by the ODST characters in the Halo games, it’s also a good sounding song.
Concorde - Mess I'm Made Of
I posted a while back about Concorde, this indie pop-rock band that vanished off the internet. They’ve got a nice sound too, so it’s a shame. I’ve found a source to download their album since you can no-longer buy it, let alone download it anywhere else… Check it out while the link is still good.

Amazon MP3 Tip: Wish List
One thing that most online music stores seem to be missing is a wish list for music you are interested in but don’t intend on buying immediately (likely to encourage impulse buying). I just recently found that you can use the Amazon Universal Wish List bookmarklet, (that allows you to add products from any website to your Amazon Wish List) also works with the Amazon MP3 store.

Music suggestion: The Blank Tapes
I know of The Blank Tapes through a friend who’s a brother of the band’s lead. It’s mostly a one man band but some of his friends join-in for a number of songs. The Blank Tapes are an indie alt/rock band that fans of The Shins, Death Cap For Cutie, and Vampire Weekend (the “indie rock” sound) might also enjoy.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs have a new album out today
I’m a casual fan of their music, so I was pleasantly surprised to see a new album out today called “It’s Blitz!”. It’s been a few months since I refreshed my music collection so I may buy this one.
The Beginning Is The End Is The Beginning
The Smashing Pumpkins song used in the first Watchmen Trailer has been stuck in my head all week.
iTunes Music Store Now DRM Free

It’s about time! This marks the end of DRM music. You can “upgrade” your old iTunes downloads to DRM free high quality tracks for $0.30 a track… With the currently available DRM free tracks; for me it’s $55.47 to upgrade 215 songs.
Nightmare Before Christmas soundtracks

Nightmare Revisited is a cover version of the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack by rock and pop artists including Korn, Marilyn Manson, and Amy Lee. It’s only $5 right now on Amazon MP3 so I might have to get it. The Korn version of ‘Kidnap the Sandy Claws’ sounds great.
The Original Soundtrack + Nightmare Revisited is bundled for $15.35 right now on Amazon MP3. However it looks like the best option is to buy the Special Edition soundtrack plus the Nightmare Revisited separate so you get a few more bonus remake songs.

The Killers - Day & Age $3.99 Amazon MP3 today only!
The Killers brand new album. It’s well worth your money. I’ve had it for a few days now illegally, (couldn’t wait) but totally upgraded to a legal higher quality copy today for $3.99, and would gladly pay full price for it. I really enjoy this album.
My review I wrote for Amazon:
The Killers keep it fresh, November 24, 2008
Once again The Killers new album has it’s own distinct sound different from their previous albums. I feel The Killers are one of the few bands that know how to keep their music really fresh without alienating fans of their past albums, you know it’s not going to be more of the same.
Day & Age has a strong nostalgic sound influenced by ’80s pop-rock among other genres that show through in each track, but at the same time the album sounds new and original. You can also hear a hint of their B-sides album Sawdust mixed in.
If it doesn’t click with you right away give it a few listens through before passing judgment, if you are like me it will grow on you with every listen.
Buy now!
I discovered the indi pop-rock band Concorde over a year ago and I’ve enjoyed some songs they offered for free on their site. One of their songs came-up in my iTunes party shuffle today and I started looking for how to buy their full album… Sadly it seems that the bands has broken-up and deleted their site, MySpace, and PureVolume accounts basically disappearing without a trace. It makes me sad that I didn’t buy their album when I had the chance.
UPDATE 05-18-09: You can download the album here for a while at least: http://drop.io/concorde_mp3
UPDATE 02-28-11: New download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?vuu346yx3pt3mx6
