Ask me something, I'll answer it here on the blog.
Hello. I'm Nathaniel Daught, (25) a graphic designer, Mac geek, and gamer. These are my ramblings, photos, links, and art because I sometimes have too much time on my hands... One would assume that you also have too much time on your hands because you are reading this blog. Enjoy.

Cool MP3 music store: Lala
[Via Cult of Mac] What sets Lala apart from say iTunes or Amazon MP3 is that you can actually preview full songs in the browser before buying. This site may change the way I buy music from now on.
Buy new music starting at 10 cents
Listen to songs in full before you buy. Get unlimited plays of a song on the web for 10 cents, or the MP3 download for 79 cents more. All the MP3s are DRM-free, compatible with iTunes and Windows Media Player. -

[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]Gravity (Don’t Let Me Go) - By Jon Black - You can download the song from his site.
I find if interesting that his song is actually inspired by the ODST characters in the Halo games, it’s also a good sounding song.

Concorde - Mess I'm Made Of
I posted a while back about Concorde, this indie pop-rock band that vanished off the internet. They’ve got a nice sound too, so it’s a shame. I’ve found a source to download their album since you can no-longer buy it, let alone download it anywhere else… Check it out while the link is still good.

Amazon MP3 Tip: Wish List
One thing that most online music stores seem to be missing is a wish list for music you are interested in but don’t intend on buying immediately (likely to encourage impulse buying). I just recently found that you can use the Amazon Universal Wish List bookmarklet, (that allows you to add products from any website to your Amazon Wish List) also works with the Amazon MP3 store.

Music suggestion: The Blank Tapes
I know of The Blank Tapes through a friend who’s a brother of the band’s lead. It’s mostly a one man band but some of his friends join-in for a number of songs. The Blank Tapes are an indie alt/rock band that fans of The Shins, Death Cap For Cutie, and Vampire Weekend (the “indie rock” sound) might also enjoy.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs have a new album out today
I’m a casual fan of their music, so I was pleasantly surprised to see a new album out today called “It’s Blitz!”. It’s been a few months since I refreshed my music collection so I may buy this one.

The Beginning Is The End Is The Beginning
The Smashing Pumpkins song used in the first Watchmen Trailer has been stuck in my head all week.

iTunes Music Store Now DRM Free

It’s about time! This marks the end of DRM music. You can “upgrade” your old iTunes downloads to DRM free high quality tracks for $0.30 a track… With the currently available DRM free tracks; for me it’s $55.47 to upgrade 215 songs.

Nightmare Before Christmas soundtracks

Nightmare Revisited is a cover version of the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack by rock and pop artists including Korn, Marilyn Manson, and Amy Lee. It’s only $5 right now on Amazon MP3 so I might have to get it. The Korn version of ‘Kidnap the Sandy Claws’ sounds great.
The Original Soundtrack + Nightmare Revisited is bundled for $15.35 right now on Amazon MP3. However it looks like the best option is to buy the Special Edition soundtrack plus the Nightmare Revisited separate so you get a few more bonus remake songs.
