Hello. I'm Nathaniel Daught, (25) a graphic designer, Mac geek, and gamer. These are my ramblings, photos, links, and art because I sometimes have too much time on my hands... One would assume that you also have too much time on your hands because you are reading this blog. Enjoy.

LittleBigPlanet on PSP looks as good as the PS3 version. New trailer.
A custom Sackboy avatar I made for Twitter.
I ordered one on Amazon last week because it was on sale for just over $20 ($10 off). I figured I can use it with LittleBigPlanet and future games that may also support it. I’ll give it a try tonight with LittleBigPlanet and post impressions.

LittleBigPlanet documentary 3: Create Mode.
I haven’t had time to play in the full game’s create mode yet, but I’m quite excited to start playing soon. This video shows some cool examples of how you create things and even shows some levels that were created by users in the public beta.

So after getting a week with the beta and then the week long delay I finally got my retail copy of LittleBigPlanet yesterday. So far I got to play through some Story Mode levels with my girlfriend last night.
The Story Mode levels are outstanding and provide great examples of what can be done in the Edit Mode with enough time. There are tons of objects and costumes that can be found in each level and encourage replay. The variety of esthetic themes in each grouping of levels is also very impressive right down to the music.
Offline co-op play, just like in the beta, is outstanding. The only slight annoyance can be when each player get too far separated; players who stray too far off screen “die” after a 5 second countdown and they get re-spawned at the next check-point. You have to work together a bit let everyone keep-up. Besides that, it’s seamless. I also look forward to trying online co-op.
The only really bothersome thing I’ve noticed in the retail version of the game is the load times. I don’t know if this is just my copy, (I hope so; so I can return it) when levels are loading (50% of the time or more) the screen freezes for a few seconds, even the load indicator…
Also transition animations like; zooming into the “level patch” on the planet can get really choppy. I don’t know if it’s just the frozen screen, but the load times feel really long. Loading saved costumes and pictures can also take a long time even impeding the gameplay because you cannot close the “poppit” until it’s done loading.
Note/Update: I’ve seen it suggested on forums etc that the slow load times may be due to the launch rush overloading the servers that track stats etc. I sure hope so because it’s almost unacceptable.
Update 2: The servers crashing was apparently the cause of my offline load issues, (thank goodness). Apparently the servers were turned-off later so they could sort-out the issues and fix the load times.

I’ll post more about the game after I have more time with it.

A week later, thanks to the recall. I’ve still got to call my local Best Buy to make sure, but I suspect they’ll have copies in today.

I can’t help but morn the loss of LittleBigPlanet this week, today would have been the big day if there had not been a recall. Let’s hope there are plenty of copies at stores next Monday.
While Fable 2 is actually out today for 360 I had not planned to get it right away so I could focus on LittleBigPlanet, also my girlfriend has told me I’m not allowed to buy any games until after christmas so she has enough gift ideas for my birthday and Xmas.

What the heck!? They are going to recall LittleBigPlanet before launch next week to remove a song from the game because it contains a song with lyrics that might offend people… (Too easily offended IMO) Why not patch this instead?!
Update: It sounds like the recall is worldwide, (after reports that it may only effect the European release) however no new release dates have been announced as of yet. An earlier estimate was Nov 14. NOOOOOOO!!!!
Update: Official Sony Blog post about LittleBigPlanet
Oct 27th is the new ship date… Not as bad as it could have been, but still LAME!
