Rearden Studios introduces OnLive game service and 'microconsole'
It’s a little cheap set-top-box that streams games over the internet. As I understand it; instead of rendering the graphics on the console the games’ graphics would be rendered at OnLive’s servers and streamed to your box (much like Netflix on demand video). This makes the hardware very cheap because only barebones hardware is required to stream the sound/video and except player input. Supposedly you would be always be able to play the latest games without needing the newest and greatest console or PC hardware. The only limitation is the ISP bandwidth and speed (and that could be a real problem).
