The almost mythical BBX Omega theme is finally being released for Windows XP?!
The theme was originally announced around early 2003 for the new ShapeShifter theme software for Mac OS X. William Bart a highly acclaimed Mac OS 9 theme designer and graphic artist was behind the design. BBX Omega teaser images were posted to message boards and quickly became hyped out of control by the MacNN GUI community.
William Bart failed to deliver the theme because of software limitations in ShapeShifter; fancy animation effects etc proved to be more challenging than expected for ShapeShifter’s developer. After about a year BBX Omega quickly became a vaporware joke and William Bart cut his ties with the Mac GUI community sites like the now well established MacThemes.
William Bart has done lots of paid work on promotional Windows themes so his decision to finally release his work on BBX Omega for Windows isn’t a surprise. Mac OS X Leopard also currently lacks an established method of supporting themes. (See Façade)
The classic BBX Mercury was ported from Mac OS 9 to Mac OS 10.3 ShapeSifter by Max Rudberg in early 2004 and was maintained until early 2005.

Hello. I'm Nathaniel Daught, (27) a graphic designer, artist, Mac geek, and gamer. These are my ramblings, photos, links, and art because I sometimes have too much time on my hands... One would assume that you also have too much time on your hands because you are reading this blog. Enjoy.
