New MacBook & Pro can support up to 8GB RAM?!

Someone on the MacThemes forums was asking if the new MacBook Pros supported 8GB of RAM since they had seen a site mention the possibility. Apple says the new MacBook & Pro only support 4GB max. Since this didn’t add-up I did some fact checking and found that apparently the only reason Apple doesn’t yet “support” 8GB of RAM in the new MacBook & Pro is due to the lack of cheap 4GB DIMMs that are certified by nVidia for it’s new chipset.

NVIDIA says new MacBook/Pro can do 8GB of RAM [computerworld.com]
So a few months from now Apple might change that spec if there are nVidia certified 4GB DIMMs made available. Cool!

UPDATE: New MacBook Pro Does Not Support 8GB RAM (for now) [macrumors.com]
