Web Hosting Update
I finally got in contact with the server admin for my web host Ambitiouslemon.com here’s what he had to say after almost 3 days of downtime:
The server went down early sunday. Normally we can fix these sorts of software issues remotely using a remote console, but the hardware for that was apparently broken so we didn’t get access to the server until monday evening. We started a complete reinstall of the OS and software and got much of it done, but there is still work to do.
They are great non-profit host and I’m thankful for the free service they’ve given me over the years, but I think I’m ready to move on to something more stable.
Also a friend of mine informed me that he has a dedicated hosting reseller account at a local data center and has offered to hook me up for free. If punbb is compatible with the versions of PHP and MySQL he’s got running I may end-up taking him up on the offer. Thankfully my sites are quite portable, so I’d be able to easily switch to a paid host if this doesn’t work out either.
