Export your Tumblr blog to WordPress →
Or even Squarespace. I’ve been thinking of testing Squarespace soon for a new version of The Android Workshop, and this tool would allow me to move all my Tumblr posts too. I’m not sure yet though if I’d want to keep my Tumblr and integrate it with Squarespace, since I do love Tumblr. We’ll wait and see.

Quick Tutorial: Gradient Strokes →
Cool Adobe Illustrator tutorial that I even learned something from, (not to sound like a duche bag) I wasn’t aware of how powerful some of the object appearance features are in the latest versions of Illustrator.

Twitter Lockdown
I’ve now made my personal Twitter account @NetworkShadow protected to block spam followers who auto follow people who tweet keywords. You will have to request to follow me now. My public Twitter account @androidworkshop is an auto feed from my blog and I may also tweet from time to time on it. Anyone can follow this account without my approval. We’ll see how well this works. I did...

Download Mac Google Chromium Nightly Builds →
Chromium is the open-source project behind Google Chrome. If you want to test the latest developments of the Mac version of Google Chrome you can grab the latest nightly builds. You can also grab the Developer Release of Chrome here, it seems to be the closest thing to a stable Mac beta version currently. Who knows when the stable 1.0 Mac version of Google Chrome will be out, but the nightly...

My $720 Gaming PC Complete Components List
This is my first PC due to being a die-hard Mac user (and still am). I’m an equally die-hard gamer, so it makes sense for me to finally build a gaming rig. I’ve already been doing some PC gaming on my MacBook Pro with Boot Camp (that won me over). All my PC parts are set to arrive tomorrow. I shopped around for the best deals from Amazon, NewEgg, and Tiger Direct. This time Amazon and...

Late 2008 MacBook Pro screen flicker/blink fix →
I’ve been noticing a slight flickr in my MacBook Pro’s display lately, mostly when an external display is connected and only when booted into Mac OS X (I also run Windows for games). This morning I did a quick Google on the subject and came-up with what seems to be the most likely cause and fix. MacBook Pros are more likely to exhibit this issue when using the GeForce 9400M integrated...

Ordered my first few gaming PC components
Due to price and my Amazon Prime membership, I’ve ordered a few components that were priced best on Amazon. I took into account the free shipping and lack of sales tax also. Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 GHz 6M L2 $167.99 Logitech 967740-0403 $17.98 It looks like I’ll be getting everything else from Tiger Direct. [See the full list of components]

LAME: Sony says PS3 to never get PS2 compatibility →
Rumors have been going around that Sony would eventually make a software emulator to support playing PS2 games on the newer PS3 consoles that have no PS2 compatibility. However Sony has now officially said that they have no plans to ever release a software emulator. All the less reason for me to upgrade from my 80GB PS3 “phat” to the new PS3 slim; that lacks any PS2 compatibility. My...

Make a Mac QUAKE LIVE application with Fluid
Using Fluid you can create an “application” to launch QUAKE LIVE for Mac quickly. Plus if it ever crashes it doesn’t bring down your whole regular browser. It may also be more easily hidden when your boss walks in on you fragging online instead of working lol (not that I do that myself).

TomTom iPhone Navigation Hits U.S., Canadian App... →
I was waiting to see what the TomTom iPhone app would cost before buying any GPS apps on my iPhone. The TomTom app seems greatly over priced though for a software only package… I may just buy an alternative like CoPilot Live that costs only $34.99. [via gizmodo.com]

The Gamer's Girl →
Here’s a link for my girlfriend, and all my guy friends’ girlfriends. The Gamer’s Girl Blog is meant to offer support and wisdom to those who date, have fallen in love with, or are married to a gamer. Much like being a house wife or soldier’s wife, being involved with a gamer has it’s own set of rules, rewards, and challenges. [Via kotaku.com]

My repaired Xbox 360 has arrived
I must hand it to Microsoft, 1 week turnaround (including shipping) on a warranty repair is outstanding. I guess they kinda have to though with the high fail rate on 360s. Anyway, I’m happy to have it back in time for the weekend.

My work alarm at 6:40 am during the week (on my iPhone). Not the most positive, but fits the mood when you’ve got to get up early. (YouTube wasn’t allowing embeds of this video… EMI sucks)
