Jimmy Chamberlin Quits Smashing Pumpkins →
It’s somewhat old news, but I just saw it today. It’s big news because Jimmy was the last remaining original band member (not counting Billy)… It’s hard to say how this will effect the future of the Smashing Pumpkins. [Fully story on stereogum.com]

Rearden Studios introduces OnLive game service and... →
untitledgames: It’s a little cheap set-top-box that streams games over the internet. As I understand it; instead of rendering the graphics on the console the games’ graphics would be rendered at OnLive’s servers and streamed to your box (much like Netflix on demand video). This makes the hardware very cheap because only barebones hardware is required to stream the sound/video and except player...

Free EventBox from MacHeist →
Scroll down the page and you’ll see the download link. I’ve been using EventBox for months now, and it’s a great app for anyone with multiple social network profiles who would like to see them all in one place. I use EventBox mainly for Twitter and GoogleReader. It’s still in beta, so you might notice it’s a little rough around the corners if you really use it...

Espresso is part of the $39 MacHeist 3 bundle →
You get a ton of apps for a fraction of the price the regularly 59.95€ ≈ $81.68 USD priced Espresso web development application. Well worth the $39 price even if you only care about just Espresso. Also of note, the game World of Goo (normally $20) is in the bundle and well worth getting.

InstallerApp Opens iPhone to All Apps Without... →
It’s an application for Mac (soon to be available for Windows PCs as well) that allows you to download iPhone apps on your computer and transfer them to your device in a friendly iTunes-like interface, without “jailbreaking” your phone. [via cultofmac.com] This is very interesting… I do wonder how long before Apple locks them out.

Espresso is now 1.0 and it's pricy →
Espresso 59.95€ ≈ $81.68 USD Regular Espresso 49.95€ ≈ $68.06 USD with the CSSEdit 2 discount I love CSSEdit 2 and I’ve been using the Espresso betas since they went public, and while I enjoy it as a source code editor I’m very skeptical of the app being worth the steep price. Espresso isn’t even a replacement for CSSEdit, Espresso has very basic CSS support… I’d...

Boot Camp: How to get the latest NVIDIA drivers...
I’ve been running Windows XP on my 15” MacBook Pro for the past 2 months now to play PC games. Overall it’s been great fun to be able to play Windows only games, and my late 2008 unibody MacBook Pro is more than capable of playing the latest PC games. The only issue I’ve run into is that the BootCamp installed graphics drivers are very old and perhaps not ideal for...

Review of McDonald's "McCafé" Coffee
It kinda sucks… The iced Mocha is alright, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for one. The hot drinks just suck. All the coffee tastes mostly like regular ground coffee instead of the espresso they claim to use. In contrast Starbucks is worth it’s steep price for a good coffee.

So I ordered a gaming mouse
I went with the Logitech G5 that I had posted about the other day. It’s the highest rated and well regarded gaming mouse I’ve seen around the web, plus it’s only a little more expensive than the other mice I was looking at. I also ordered a mouse pad because with a laptop you never know what kind of surface you’ll be dealing with. I happened to find a low priced...

All the Gaming Mice I am interested in
Logitech G5 A fancy well reviewed gaming mouse. It’s got adjustable weight even. It’s slightly ugly and costs the most of the mice I’m looking at. No native Mac OS X drivers so 3rd party shareware drivers would be required if I wanted to use the extra buttons in Mac OS X, however user reviews would suggest it works fine under games in OS X without drivers. Logitech MX 518 ...

Razer DeathAdder Mac 3G Gaming Mouse →
I think I’ve settled on this mouse for my new found interest in PC games. I like this mouse for a few reasons; (1) It’s a mostly well reviewed gaming mouse (2) It fully supports Mac OS X out of the box without 3rd party drivers (3) It also looks cool. I was also looking into Logitech gaming mice but their programable buttons aren’t usable under Mac OS X without 3rd party driver...

Ordered VMware Fusion 2 →
I ordered the disc version from Amazon for quite a bit less than even the direct download version. The trail had me impressed. It’s a great BootCamp companion. I was even able to play some less taxing Windows 3D games inside of VMware Fusion 2 at reasonable speeds.

MacBook Hard Drive Upgrade = Free PS3 HDD Upgrade...
I’m thinking about upgrading my MacBook Pro from it’s stock 320 GB hard drive to 500 GB, to make more room for my Windows gaming partition. The pleasant side effect of this upgrade is a free upgrade for my PS3 and a bonus 80GB external drive. This round of upgrades would cost me around $130 (or less) to buy the 500 GB 2.5” SATA hard drive and a 2.5”...

The Nvidia Driver I'm using for my MacBook Pro's... →
UPDATE: I’ve switched drivers since this post, see my new post. I have a late 2008 MacBook Pro that I’ve BootCamped to play PC games on. The Apple provided BootCamp Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT drivers are quite dated… I had been getting some small graphics glitches so I installed the above linked driver. The MacBook Pro is actually a great PC gaming laptop, I’ve been able to...

Looking for gallery AJAX script like Apple uses
I love Apple’s gallery script they use on their product pages like the iMac and MacBook Pro. I’d love to do something similar on a site I’m working on so I don’t have to resort to pop-ups or new windows. After looking at their code I’m intimidated enough not to just dive-in and rip their script… What I can gather though is that the script can load html...

Watchmen MMO game for iPhone Now Available →
Crazy, an actual MMO game for iPhone and iPod Touch! I hear the servers are being crashed by the amount of interest in the game today, but there are some positive impressions from the people who are able to log-in and play. Hyped to see Watchmen today
I just finished reading the Watchmen graphic novel last night (in time to see the movie tonight) and I really enjoyed it. The ending was a bit unexpected in how it played-out; not your typical super hero ending. I’ve heard the movie changes the end a bit, so I’ll be interested to see exactly how it was changed. A friend of mine was saying that he hasn’t been able to find the...
